SEB launches evergreen forest fund with second closing fast approaching

Investors in Silvestica Green Forest, including Folksam and KLP, have benefitted from higher-than-expected returns and carbon emission reductions. SEB and CRK Forest Management are now launching a second forest fund, this time as an evergreen.

The four anchor investors in the Silvestica Green Forest fund, which was launched in 2017, are presumably pleased with their investment decision.

Between 2017 and 2020, the fund generated an annualized return of 14.3 percent (the expected return target was 5-7 percent), served as a hedge against inflation, and even removed 204,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
