Societal focus on green transition has "big influence" on Triton's strategy, says partner

An increased focus in society on the green transition, which is rubbing off on the valuation of companies, is having an impact on the Swedish-German private equity company's investment strategy. "We will always make assets greener while we own them," one partner says.

The possibility a company has of becoming greener, and its potential role in terms of the general sustainability agenda, have been incorporated into the analysis of almost all companies that Swedish-German private equity investor Triton considers for investment.

A particularly important parameter is what can be improved, and eventually changed, at the relevant companies, says Peter Frankling, partner at the private equity fund, who emphasizes that it is important to be ahead of the curve when it comes to the green transition.
