Nordea AM's new alternatives unit takes shape with triple hire

The head of Nordea's new alternatives unit, Lea Vaisalo, believes private markets are uniquely positioned to drive change in the coming years, where financial returns and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Nordea Asset Management (NAM) is expanding its new alternative investment unit with three new appointments.

Its private equity team is being strengthened through the appointments of Henri Valpas, who will be returning to NAM from Elo Mutual Pension Insurance at the end of the month, and Christian Ankerstjerne, who joined Nordea last week from the M&A division at A.P. Møller Mærsk.
