Industriens Pension puts external manager in the cockpit to steer portfolio in a greener direction

The Danish pension fund uses LGT Capital Partners' ESG cockpit to ensure that its equity portfolio is heading in a greener direction. However, data estimation remains a central issue.

Investment manager LGT Capital Partners assesses the environmental footprint of Danish labor-market pension fund Industriens Pension's listed equity portfolio on a quarterly basis.

The most recent analysis shows that the portfolio emits 18 percent less carbon than the holdings its benchmark -- the MSCI ACWI index.
