Nordic Cross hires fund manager as co-founder departs

Mikael Hanell, founding partner at Nordic Cross Asset Management, left in search of new challenges at the beginning of September. The replacement has been found at Carneo Asset Managers.

Swedish Nordic Cross Asset Management has lost one of its founding partners in the form of Mikael Hanell who left the firm in  search of new challenges at the beginning of September, reports media HedgeNordic.

Hanell managed the small-cap-focused long/short equity fund at Nordic Cross Asset Management, alongside Ulf Strömsten. As a consequence of Hanell's departure, Nordic Cross has hired Oscar Östlin to manage the fund. Prior to his appointment as portfolio manager at Nordic Cross Asset Management, Östlin worked as an analyst at the group Carneo Asset Managers, of which Nordic Cross is an affiliate.
