Velliv divests shares in tobacco industry worth EUR 61m

The pension company is selling its investments in the tobacco industry.

Velliv is divesting interest worth DKK 450m (EUR 61m) in the tobacco industry, the Danish pension firm informs in a press release.

"Velliv's interest in contributing to the health of its clients and the general public has grown over the past 24 months. Investments in tobacco are misaligned with those efforts. We are therefore taking the final step and excluding tobacco from our investment universe," says CIO at Velliv Anders Stensbøl Christiansen.
