SEB fund manager of top-performing ESG funds relies on C-suite test

The woman running this year's top-ranked ESG funds has developed a series of tests she says offer a reliable path to picking the best sustainable stocks.

Caroline Forsberg of SEB Investment Management has trounced many of her peers, delivering her clients a 30 percent return on two funds in 2021. That's more than double the industry average, and better than all ESG funds tracked by Bloomberg across Europe, the U.S. and Japan.

The 25-year veteran of stock investing says she'd never buy shares in a company without first getting to know its management. Forsberg also says she's happy to travel across continents to inspect production facilities away from a firm's headquarters.
