Managing director quits Nordea Asset Management to set up own advisory firm

Nordea Asset Management is losing the managing director of its Luxembourg fund operation platform. The replacement has been found internally.

Managing Director for Nordea Asset Management's (NAM) Luxembourg-based fund operation Nordea Investment Funds S.A. Michael Maldener has decided to leave the Nordics' largest asset manager after nearly 13 years working for Nordea in the European financial center.

"NAM has always been a great place to be for me. When I started here at Nordea Investment Funds S.A. (NIFSA) in 2008, we were a few dozen of people, a small shop but with a new entrepreneurial spirit and a great team lead. It grew and developed over the years and today manages more than EUR 100bn in AUM, with about 250 people in Luxembourg and in its 10 foreign entities across the Globe," he writes on Linkedin, and continues:
