Danish Pension funds already live up to new alternatives principles

Five new guidelines aim to create more transparency about how Danish pension funds asses the value of unlisted assets – but according to several pension firms, they already live up to these principles.

Denmark's pension companies need guidelines for how often they need to assess the value of unlisted assets, and how this should be done, lobby organization Forsikring & Pension (Insurance & Pension, -ed.) concluded in April, releasing five principles for doing just that.

However, if you ask some of the country's biggest pension funds, the principles will not make much difference on a day-to-day basis. Several of them have said that they already live up to the principles to a large extent.
