Wall Street giant revamps Nordic strategy: "Growing our local presence can be a game changer"

Since Goldman Sachs Asset Management brought in Thomas Kønig to rethink its Nordic strategy, he's been reinforcing the regional team. Last year, the industry titan opened a new office in the heart of Copenhagen, and Kønig is still scouting for new profiles, he tells AMWatch.

When Thomas Kønig was presented with the opportunity to revamp Goldman Sachs Asset Management's (GSAM) Nordic strategy, it was an offer the experienced financier couldn't refuse.

From 1993-2007, Kønig, an educated economist from the University of Copenhagen, worked at Nykredit Markets and Nordea Markets before taking the reigns of Deutsche Bank's Nordic sales unit serving institutional clients.
