Nordic microcap frontrunner scales down game companies

In 2020, Nordic Micro Cap fund of Finland's Aktia Asset Management pulled the second-best return of the Nordic-domiciled small cap funds investing in Northern Europe at 89.3 percent. Portfolio managers Jan Brännback and Janne Lähdesmäki say the fund became one of the top three investors in a Swedish software tools and services firm in the course of the year.

Finland's Aktia Asset Management focus on companies with growth potential despite sudden market changes paid off in 2020 for the company's Nordic Micro Cap fund.

The EUR 232m fund yielded a 89.3 percent return in 2020, making it the second-best performing fund of all Nordic-domiciled funds investing in small and medium cap in Northern Europe, according to Morningstar data.
