"When there is a gold rush, you should own shovel manufacturers," says manager at one of Norway’s best-performing funds

Thomas Nielsen, who manages one of this year's best-performing Norwegian funds, prefers to keep away from stock market new-comers and so-called green equities, since his main priority is accounting history.

The maths always win out in the end, says First Fondene's portfolio manager Thomas Nielsen, who, this far into the year, has conquered the Oslo Stock Exchange, writes Dagens Næringsliv.

First the Veritas fund, which Nielsen manages, was established in August last year, and so far into 2020, it has pulled in a a return of more than 50 percent, which is much better than the main index on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
