Largest Nordic asset manager sees AUM fall in first quarter

The AUM at the largest asset manager in the Nordics fell during the first quarter of 2020 due to the negative developments on the financial markets. A small share of the drop was caused by clients deciding to move money.

The downturn on the financial markets has affected the largest asset management business in the Nordics, Nordea Asset & Wealth Management, where total AUM dropped by EUR 44.3 billion to EUR 280.4 billion during Q1.

This interrupts the increase in AUM that happened during all quarters of 2019. The bank has not experienced a drop in AUM since the final quarter of 2018, which was also affected by negative financial markets.
