Ex-pharma professional will lead DNB’s new biotech fund

DNB Asset Management is launching a new biotech fund later in April, despite the current uncertainty surrounding financial markets. Benedicte Bakke, who has spent most of her career in pharma, will be managing the fund. She tells AMWatch how a dentist ended up in asset management.

Which career path did you envision for yourself when you were younger?

"I didn’t have a clear path for my career when I was younger. When I was in high school, I liked mathematics, physics and chemistry a lot and was thinking of becoming an engineer. However, things changed and instead, I started my career by working as a dentist for four years. I moved on to do research and then went into the pharmaceutical and biotech industry where I have spent most of my career.
