It is vital to the economy that financial markets stay open during the current coronavirus pandemic, according to Steven Maijoor, head of ESMA, Reuters reports.

Huge volatility on the financial markets has, according to the media, increased the possibility that trading will be suspended to give the market some breathing room - but it doesn't look like this will happen any time soon.
