Seasoned alternatives specialist finds it refreshing to build something new at Evli

Career Path: After 14 years at Nordea, Richard Wanamo left to join Evli's private assets department as Investment Director. He has spent all of his career working with alternative investments, and he does not consider the job move a huge change in his daily work. But going from a large organization to a smaller one has been refreshing and he likes the fact that words and actions are not oceans apart.

Which career path did you envision for yourself when you were younger?

"When I started studying law at Helsinki University in 1999, I envisioned that I would become a lawyer at a big law firm. I even worked at a couple of big Helsinki law firms alongside my studies. At the same time as law school, I also went to business school (Hanken, also in Helsinki), thinking it would become a great supplement to becoming a better M&A and business lawyer.
