South Korean syndicate and Varma purchase OP HQ in Helsinki

Varma could be taking on slightly more exposure to real estate in the future, hints the company's Head of Real Estate to AMWatch.

Finland’s Varma has acquired the headquarters of OP Cooperative in Vallila, Helsinki in a consortium with South Korean NH Investment & Securities (NHIS) and Shinhan Investment Corp, with a transaction with a value of EUR 480m.

Ilkka Tomperi, Varma’s Head of Real Estate, tells AMWatch that Varma’s real estate portfolio, worth some EUR 4.1bn, makes up approximately 9 percent of the mutual pension insurance company’s investments.
