PE duo reveals recipe to unlock potential and claims to keep cautious as market peak draws nearer

BACKGROUND: Amid increasing valuations and more fierce competition for companies across all segments, discipline is more important than ever, according to SEB Private Equity's Nordic Control Investment team. They claim operational value creation is the key to good private equity.

In the search for attractive returns during times of minimum bond yields, a growing number of institutional investors beef up their exposure to unlisted assets. One of the asset classes in particularly high demand is private equity.

According to consultancy EY's 2019 Global Alternative Fund Survey, in 2019 the surveyed investors have increased their exposure to private equity to make up 25 percent of their entire portfolio of alternatives. This is an increase of seven percentage points from 2018, mostly at the expense of hedge funds.
