Danish responsible for major equity team takes stock as he settles in a cultural melting pot

INVESTMENT MANAGERS ABROAD: After nine months as Head of Equities at EUR 1.4tn asset manager Amundi, Kasper Elmgreen is getting used to working in another culture where the Scandinavian work-life balance is non-existing. But he has insisted on bringing two things from Denmark – one of which has made him the laughingstock at work.

For its series entitled Investment managers abroad, over the coming weeks AMWatch will speak to fund managers, analysts and senior members with Nordic origins, who are based outside their home region. Initially, AMWatch turns to Kasper Elmgreen, who has been Head of Equities at Amundi for nine months.

In this role, Elmgreen is responsible for a team of 85 FTEs in Paris, Milan, Vienna, Munich, Tokyo – and Dublin where Elmgreen is personally located. His team members are responsible for all active equity strategies, except some of the Global equity strategies, all the North American equities and all the Emerging markets equities.
