I want to give more people a chance to affect investment decisions

Career Path: The newly appointed chief investment officer at FIM Asset Management, Mika Leskinen, has spent most of his career as head of responsible investments. After only three months in his new role, he is already making changes to the investment strategy process. He wants to make sure that more of his colleagues can have an impact on investment decisions.

Which career path did you envision for yourself when you were younger?

"That’s an interesting question. My life was dominated by sports, namely tennis, until I was 19, and I guess that was kind of a dream to do that for living, but I was not good enough, so when that dream didn’t materialize, I decided to study economics, as I found that interesting. If it hadn’t been economics, I would probably have been doing something related to sports management or similar. Today, I still play a lot of tennis and enjoy it."
