Danske Bank: Green bond issuances hit all time high in Q1

Green bonds issued in SEK increased by 75 percent in Q1 compared to the first quarter of 2018.

The global issuance of green bonds reached a milestone in Q1 2019 as issuances rose by 18 percent compared to the first quarter 2018, according to Danske Bank.

In round figures, this amounts to USD 53bn compared to USD 45bn a year earlier. The SEK green bond markets in particular stood out with a 75 percent increase, ending at SEK 42.2bn, which is already more than the entire 2017 at SEK 38bn. In Q1 2019, 18 percent of all SEK bonds were green.
