Investors' confidence in the value of active management reached a low point, when Allianz Global Investors recently published a survey showing that 23 percent of investors deem that fundamental analysis and active security selection is worth the expense. For Nordic investors, however, the figure was 40 percent.
Head of Institutional Europe Irshaad Ahmad was surprised that only 23 percent of the 500 quizzed institutional investors acknowledge the value of active management:
