Experienced investment chief's early bet turned out profitable

On his 60th birthday, head of unlisted investments at Industriens Pension is a happy man, partly thanks to his early bets on unlisted investments. These have contributed to the company's results enough for the particular business area to have constituted its own department since 2015.

For more than 20 years, Jan Østergaard has had a strong influence on the investments made at Industriens Pension.

Covering the roles as both investment director and head of investments in the occupational pension company, he has been assigned with the overall responsibility while also watching the long-term returns. Monday this week, he celebrated his 60th birthday in the midst of a career that, especially due to early bets on unlisted investments, gave him plenty of reason to smile.
