Online broker Avanza first to introduce climate rating on funds

Investors with Swedish-based online broker Avanza will now be able to filter and select funds labeled with low carbon footprint through a independent risk rating developed by Morningstar.

Climate-smart choices are not always easy to make, and this extends to savings and investments. According to media Realtid.se, a step to making investment choices easier was made today by Swedish online equity broker Avanza, which introduced a new climate rating for funds.

Almost SEK 4,000bn in the Swedish savings market are invested in funds, and 80 percent of the Swedish population have fund savings. Introducing climate ratings could send lots of dollars towards a better future, realtid.se reports.
