Swedish pension fund AP2 has found recipe for success in China

Most asset managers find investing in China difficult. Sweden's AP2 shares its strategy to become successful in the complex market.

One of Sweden's national pensions funds, AP2, started investing in Chinese equities six years ago, and results are now proving the strategy successful.

"In 2017 our allocation to China A shares returned an average alpha of 30 percent. That is 3,000 basis points, not 30 basis points. It was quite astonishing," says Patrik Jonsson, head of manager selection, public assets at AP2, to top1000funds.com.
