Finnish software company Tieto is planning to set a financial platform to trade and issue equities in unlisted companies -- with the aim of boosting liquidity in private corporate equity, writes the news service Finextra.com.
The firm is to do so by using database technology called blockchain. The idea is that the platform should be accessible to all shareholders, increase the visibility of equities and make it easier to issue them. The plan is that the new platform will be ready by 2019.
