Blockchain platform for trading unlisted companies in the pipeline

Several Finnish companies, including Nordea, are working with a Nordic software company with the aim of establishing a platform based on blockchain technology for trading equities in unlisted companies.

Finnish software company Tieto is planning to set a financial platform to trade and issue equities in unlisted companies -- with the aim of boosting liquidity in private corporate equity, writes the news service

The firm is to do so by using database technology called blockchain. The idea is that the platform should be accessible to all shareholders, increase the visibility of equities and make it easier to issue them. The plan is that the new platform will be ready by 2019.
