Sovereign wealth funds are giants of the investment world, but getting data on them can be hard. US manager Invesco has delved into the sometimes opaque sector and the firm's just-published report on trends amongst SWFs finds the funds favoring infrastructure and private debt.

Sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) tend to exist outside the spotlight. US investment manager Invesco, however, has been trying to point the light in the direction of their business over the last six years.

A total of 126 investors -- split equally between central banks and other sovereign investors -- have taken part in the 6th Invesco Global Sovereign Asset Management Study representing a total of EUR 14.4 trillion of AUM.
