Fewer retail investors participate in AGMs in Sweden and Denmark

As digitalization and proxy voting gains traction, the number of retail investors taking part in Annual General Meetings (AGMs) is dwindling.

Annual General Meetings (AGMs)used to be events relished by savers across Scandinavia. Retail investors would find invitations to a long list of AGMs dropping into their mailboxes or appearing as notices in the local paper. They looked forward to going along, hearing the head honchos explaining what had happened last year, what to expect the next — all along with some catering.

But times have changed.
