BlackRock: Differences disappear in alphabet soup

ETFs, ETIs, ETNs ETCs - can you honestly say that you know the difference between these products? Most people cannot say yes to that question, and the lack of knowledge on Exchange Traded Products affects - especially - ETFs. BlackRock is encouraging the industry to educate stakeholders better.

The distinction between different Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) is not clear enough, and this is harmful to the industry as a whole but also to BlackRocks iShares Exchange Traded Fund arm, iShares Head of Nordics, Matti Tammi explains in this interview.

BlackRock finds that more often than not ETFs - iShares main product - take the blame for something caused by other products under the ETP umbrella, for example ETNs (Exchange Traded Notes - unsecured, unsubordinated debt).
