From zero to EUR 31 billion: Torben Möger Pedersen looks back

For the past quarter of a century, Torben Möger Pederesen has seen Pensiondanmark's assets under management grow from zero to around EUR 31 billion under his management. The veteran Danish pensions boss tells AMWatch about some of the obstacles, changes and trends that happened on his watch.

Unlike most other chief executives in the Nordic pensions industry, Torben Möger Pedersen is continuing his journey as CEO of the same pension provider after nearly three decades in the role.

AMWatch met him at his Copenhagen office, with its view of the Øresund -- the sound between Denmark and Sweden -- to a talk about his time at Pensiondanmark. The pension provider manages investments on behalf of workers in industries such as fishing, municipalities, sanitation and agriculture.
