Blackstone partner joins APM Holding in "key step" for firm

A.P. Møller Holding is hiring a Dane from private equity fund Blackstone to become its new Chief Investment Officer. The appointment marks a key step in the company's strategy, says CEO Robert M. Uggla.

A.P. Møller Holding, the investment company of the A.P. Møller Foundation, has appointed a new Chief Investment Officer.

Jan Thorsgaard Nielsen is joining the company from the private equity fund Blackstone, and will be based in London, where he has been since 2005 as senior managing director. Starting this August, he will take over as CIO at APM Holding and become part of the executive board alongside CEO Robert M. Uggla and CFO Morten Larsen.
