Danica gets up close and personal with Aberdeen over property

Denmark's largest pension funds have different approaches when it comes to managing their residential and commercial properties. Danica pension chooses to bring in outside help to manage all of its real estate -- with the exception of its many shopping centers.

Danica Pension differs from the majority of commercial pension funds in the fact it relies on external investment skills in its efforts to generate high returns from the pension fund's real estate investments.

While most of its competitors draw the line for outsourcing at strategic investment decisions, Danica has allowed asset manager Aberdeen Asset Management – to be known as Aberdeen Standard in future – to get close to the strategic decisions, says Anders Svennesen, CIO at Danica, in an interview with EjendomsWatch, an AMWatch sister site.
