Denmark's pensions lobby sets new guidelines for valuation of alternative investments

Trade association Insurance & Pension Denmark says it will henceforth be easier to verify pension values. An independent pension specialist is not so impressed with the measures, however.

Denmark's pension savers will as of Jan. 1 next year have greater assurance of not being cheated when placing some of their money in alternative assets such as real estate and renewable energy installations.

The country's institutional sector has reached an agreement on a common playbook meant to improve transparency and ensure more uniform value statements on alternative investments.
