Green investments have prompted Pensam to rethink its FX hedging strategy

Alternative investments outside Europe have led Danish pension fund Pensam to increasingly match the FX hedging contracts to its long-term investments.

With alternatives taking up a more significant part of the portfolio, Danish EUR 21bn pension fund Pensam has changed its strategy for FX hedging.

For years, the labor market pension fund was using short term FX forwards, but today, the FX hedging portfolio is set to match the liquidity, risk, and investment horizon of the assets being hedged.
