Passive pension product beats active managers - yet again

A passive pension product was behind the highest return in H1 as well as the healthiest average return in an extended time span, writes Danish business daily Børsen.

During the first six months of 2019, Velliv's passive pension product, which generally follows the market development, yielded the highest return for Danish pension savers, writes Danish business daily Børsen, referring to the fact that Velliv customers with a medium risk profile, who have selected the passive product, saw a return of 11.9 percent.

Behind the calculations is independent investment adviser Nikolaj Holdt Mikkelsen, and he adds that Velliv Index, which is the name of the company's passive product, retains its place as the top-ranked product in a five-year perspective.
