AP4 rules out nuclear weapons and oil sands companies

Incoming rule changes for four of the national funds backing Sweden's state pension system have inspired AP4 to take its responsible investment further -- erasing more industrial sectors from its investment universe.

Swedish pensions buffer fund AP4 has decided to exclude nuclear weapons and oil sands companies from its investments.

The fund announced the move in a statement on Wednesday. By acting as a responsible asset owner and reducing climate risk in its portfolio, AP4 believes can contribute to higher and sustainable long-term returns.
