Chasing returns, AP Pension plans to build private nursing homes

Super-low interest rates on government bonds are forcing pension funds to make more alternative investments as a way of securing a stable income in future years. Proving it is no exception, Denmark's AP Pension announces a focus on care homes for senior citizens.

In partnership with Denmark's Deacon Homes, AP Pension is planning to build and operate private, independent nursing homes.

The first three partnership agreements with municipalities have been signed, and there are more in the pipeline. Senior homes are a focus area for the pension fund industry, however, AP Pension is frontrunner in care of the elderly.
