Although a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled fund is proving a huge success for the company, Denmark's fourth-largest asset manager BankInvest has decided to refrain from declaring it an Article 9 fund in line with the EU Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation.
"To be honest, we don't want to be accused of greenwashing. At the moment, we don't have a clear definition of an Article 9 fund. It's totally up to the individual manager if a product should be declared article 6, 8 or 9," Lars Bo Bertram, CEO at BankInvest, tells AMWatch in an interview.
