No Article 9 funds at BankInvest: "To be honest, we don't want to be accused of greenwashing"

Despite being an avid advocate of the green transition, CEO at BankInvest Lars Bo Bertram has so far refrained from categorizing the Danish manager's popular sustainability product as an Article 9 fund. He tells AMWatch why.

Although a Nordic Swan Ecolabelled fund is proving a huge success for the company, Denmark's fourth-largest asset manager BankInvest has decided to refrain from declaring it an Article 9 fund in line with the EU Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation.

"To be honest, we don't want to be accused of greenwashing. At the moment, we don't have a clear definition of an Article 9 fund. It's totally up to the individual manager if a product should be declared article 6, 8 or 9," Lars Bo Bertram, CEO at BankInvest, tells AMWatch in an interview.
