Handelsbanken to discontinue kickbacks

In Norway, Handelsbanken will no longer take return commissions for distributing its investment funds. In this way, Handelsbanken joins an ongoing market trend, where banks are changing their fund pricing models.

Handelsbanken now confirms that it also moves away from receiving kickbacks for distributing its funds i Norway, although the bank declines on elaborating on its new pricing strategy.

Chief Communications Officer at Handelsbanken, Lars N. Sæthre, explains that the pricing models for distributing funds are changing in the market due to ongoing dialogs between Norway's FSA and the industry on how to interpret the EU's MiFID II directive.
