UK-based manager's Head of Nordics encourages investors to dare take a contradictory approach

Magnus Jahnke from Jupiter Asset Management warns against herd mentality among investors. He prefers active fund managers running high conviction and concentrated portfolios, and who may well take a contradictory perspective.

Magnus Jahnke -- Head of Nordics at UK-based Jupiter Asset Management -- urges investors to work their assets harder.

According to an interview with investors' news site Nordic Investor, Jahnke no longer believes that following a herd mentality and buying into big brand names based on recent performance, instead of looking into the underlying investments, will work as well as previously, given the drastic changes to markets.
