Financial data providers shift their business to new audiences

Information sellers focus on companies rather than traders, says Factset CEO.

Financial information suppliers are looking for new customers among wealth management and corporate audiences, Chief Executive Philip Snow of Factset tells the Financial Times.

He attributes these efforts to the decline of the traditional dealing floor which makes it harder to sell data to traders.

In 2021, the number of new equity listings on the Nasdaq exchange in Copenhagen broke the old record set in 2007, and in Stockholm, the exchange recorded its highest-ever number of new listings. Nasdaq also had increasing trading volumes last year.
