Last chance for bid to cut controversial weapons from indices

A Swiss initiative to persuade index providers to exclude controversial weapons is still collecting signatories, but deadline is fast approaching.

This Thursday, January 31, will be the last day for asset managers and asset owners to sign up to an initiative aimed at getting global index providers to exclude controversial weapon manufacturers from their mainstream indices.

Danish asset manager Sparinvest is a signatory, alongside six other Nordic pensions and asset managers — MP Pension and PKA pension in Denmark; Länsförsäkringar, Eligo Asset Management and Movestic Livsförsäkringar in Sweden and Norway’s Sparebanken.
