By embracing the sustainability agenda the EU has turned itself into something its citizens can relate to more easily. Smart move, says UNPRI board member and managing partner at LGT Capital Partners Tycho Sneyers.

Time and again, the EU has been criticized for being too distant from the citizens that the continental cooporation was meant to serve -- but the wave of climate concern now sweeping the globe is about to change that.

They have really found something -- not for PR reasons -- where the EU can plan a really positive role in the lives of the citizens in trying to make the EU economy into a more sustainable EU economy.
